Chromate Conversion Coatings
Clear Chromate Conversion
This process produces a clear chemical film on the surface of the aluminium which facilitates excellent electrical conductivity.
This finish is often specified as a finished coating, but is also suitable as a pre-treatment for painting and powder coating.
Colour Chromate Conversion
This process produces a golden coloured film on the components surface which also offers good electrical with excellent corrosion resistance.
It is less common for this to be specified as a finished coating and is predominantly used as a pre-treatment for paint and powder coating.
RoHS Compliance
All our conversion coatings comply in full with the RoHS directive which bans the sale and therefore manufacture of electrical equipment containing significant levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, PBB and PBDE from July 1st 2006.
